Research Notes

The Rockford Grade 77 was produced in six limited runs, totaling 800 movements. Based on the Hunting Model 8 design, the Grade 77 features finely damaskeened plates with 15 jewels in red settings. Movements are marked "R.W.Co. - Rockford Ill. - Adjusted" in blackletter ("Old English") style. Some movements are additionally marked "15 J." The 1896 A.C. Becken catalog describes Grade 77 as "adjusted," indicating the movements were likely adjusted to temperature and isochronism. Movements are fitted with an "outboard" micrometric regulator.
