Some sources claim that only an embossed ("raised") 14K mark indicates solid gold while a stamped ("outlined") mark denotes a gold-filled case. However, evidence supports that Dueber utilized embossed marks for the earlier solid 14K earlier gold cases but transitioned to an outlined mark in later years. Early 10K cases feature an unspecified outlined "Dueber" and "Anchor." During the later era, the Dueber's gold-filled cases were marked "Dueber Special" or specified with gurantees stamped "25 Years" or "20 Years," while the solid gold cases were marked with the outlined "14K - Dueber - [Anchor in Shield]" emblem.
