Senior
The "Junior" case was sold by Fahys in the late 1880s and it is assumed that the "Senior" case was introduced around the same time.
Most, if not all, are marked with patent dates such as "Apr.5.1881," Apr.22.1884," and/or "July 1 [1884]".
March 1887, The Jewelers' Circular and Horological Review: "Joseph Fahys & Co., having discontinued the manufacture of their inlaid initial cases, because of the growth of other departments of their business; S.F. Myers & Co., purchased their entire stock of gold inlaid cases and now offer them to the trade. The stock consisted of some six thousand cases in Junior dust proof, Senior dust proof and screw bezel styles."
The "Senior" and "Junior" cases are very similar. The 1887 Busiest House In America catalog described the "Senior" as "Made with 5 Gold Section Joints, and Albata Caps." The "Junior" is described as "Made with Silver Joint and Albata Cap." The case illustrations published in the catalog show the "Senior" case hinged at hte 9:00 position while the "Junior" is a two-piece "pair case" style.
