Monarch 14K/21YR

The "Monarch" represented the best gold-filled case in the Fahys product line for approximately a decade between c.1886-1898. The grade was typically advertised as guaranteed for a duration of 21 years. However, due to simplicity, these cases were often listed in the "20 Year" section in wholesale catalogs, matching the standard convention used by other case companies. Around 1897, the company decided to comply with this standard, and the grade was bumped down to a 20-Year guarantee for a short period of time before termination by the end of 1897, being replaced by the "Honest" grade as early as June 1897.

The script "Fahys 14K Monarch" mark started being used by the company c.1893.
