The 1908 A.C. Becken Catalog describes the "Excellence" as:
"18 size, Open Face, screw bezel and solid back, with swing ring, gilded reflector and patent dustproof sterling silver crown, also silver bow and pendant, solid gold dustproof nut, guaranteed double stock, one-half silver and one-half nickel, and to wear permanently."
